Prof. Dr. Ulrike Fiedler is an accomplished biotechnology executive, entrepreneur, and strategic advisor with more than 25 years of experience across biopharmaceutical development, contract manufacturing, commercial leadership, and company building. She brings a unique combination of scientific expertise and commercial acumen, having led organisations across the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors from early-stage innovation through to global commercialisation.
Following her training as a biochemist, Ulrike began her career in academia, conducting research in plant biotechnology, protein engineering, and medical sciences. She later transitioned into industry, founding three biotechnology companies focused on CDMO services and early-stage product development. She spent 14 years as Chief Executive Officer of Scil Proteins GmbH, leading the company’s growth and expansion within the biologics sector.
Ulrike has also held senior commercial leadership roles, including Chief Commercial Officer positions at IDT Biologika and EuroAPI, where she drove global business growth, strategic partnerships, and market expansion. Throughout her career, she has played a key role in multiple mergers and acquisitions, supporting business transformation and value creation across the life sciences industry.
Alongside her advisory work with BioCina, Ulrike continues to contribute to the advancement of the biotechnology sector through her role as Professor of Industrial Biotechnology at the University of Halle, Germany.
Ulrike holds a Doctorate in Biochemistry (Dr. rer. nat.) from Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany.
