Dr. Jürgen Betzing is a seasoned pharmaceutical executive and industry leader with more than 30 years of experience leading global manufacturing, commercial operations, and business transformation across the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors. He has built a distinguished career leading complex international organisations, delivering operational excellence, driving strategic growth, and creating long-term value across highly regulated pharmaceutical markets.
Throughout his career, Jürgen has held a number of senior executive leadership positions, including Chief Executive Officer of IDT Biologika, one of Europe's leading contract development and manufacturing organisations. During his tenure, he was responsible for guiding the company's strategic direction, strengthening customer partnerships, expanding commercial opportunities, and advancing operational performance across the business. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of bene-Arzneimittel GmbH, adding further executive leadership experience across pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, and commercial operations.
Prior to IDT Biologika, Jürgen served as General Manager of Siegfried Hameln, where he led one of Europe's largest sterile manufacturing sites, and as Chief Operating Officer of Acino Group, overseeing global manufacturing operations, supply chain, engineering, and business development activities across multiple international sites. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Mepha Pharma GmbH and held a range of leadership positions spanning pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, quality, and operations.
A recognised leader in pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality, Jürgen has extensive experience operating within highly regulated environments and has served as both an EU Qualified Person (QP) and Responsible Person under Swiss pharmaceutical law. His leadership is characterised by a strong focus on organisational performance, customer success, operational excellence, and building high-performing teams.
Jürgen holds a Doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of Freiburg, Germany, and a Diploma in Business Administration from St. Gallen Business School, Switzerland.
