BioCina Appoints Ulrike Fiedler as Chief Commercial Officer to Accelerate Global Growth

Perth, Adelaide – November 6, 2026
BioCina, a global contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) with manufacturing operations in Australia, today announced the appointment of Prof. Dr. Ulrike Fiedler as Chief Commercial Officer. Fiedler has served as Strategic Advisor to BioCina since October 2025, advising the leadership team on strategy and market positioning.
As Chief Commercial Officer, she will lead BioCina’s global commercial strategy, business development and strategic partnerships. She brings more than 25 years of experience across biopharmaceutical development, contract manufacturing and commercial leadership, combining deep scientific expertise with a record of building and growing businesses.
“Ulrike already knows our sites, our people and our clients,” said Dr. Thomas Broudy, Chief Executive Officer of BioCina. “Her experience leading commercial teams at European CDMOs will help us grow our presence in the US and Europe, and strengthen our position in Asia-Pacific and our home market of Australia and New Zealand.”
Fiedler spent 14 years as Chief Executive Officer of Scil Proteins GmbH, where she built the company into a CDMO serving the biologics sector. She went on to serve as Chief Commercial Officer at IDT Biologika and EuroAPI, driving global business development, strategic partnerships and market expansion. A biochemist by training, she has founded three biotechnology companies focused on CDMO services and early-stage product development, and has played a key role in multiple mergers and acquisitions across the life sciences industry. She is Professor of Industrial Biotechnology at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, where she earned her doctorate in biochemistry.
“Having worked closely with the team as an advisor, I have seen the strength of what BioCina offers,” said Fiedler. “Integrated drug substance and sterile fill-finish, decades of manufacturing experience and the advantages of developing in Australia make for a compelling proposition. I look forward to bringing it to more sponsors around the world and supporting their programs from clinic to commercial supply.”
The appointment comes as BioCina builds its international client base. Its Adelaide and Perth sites bring more than 50 years of manufacturing heritage and approvals from regulators including the US FDA, EMA and TGA. Since the 2025 merger, they have offered sponsors a single partner from biologics drug substance through to sterile fill-finish, with access to Australia’s R&D Tax Incentive and a fast pathway into early-phase clinical trials.
